Foundations of Management (FoM)

The Foundation of Management course aids employees transitioning to management roles. FoM is the product of a comprehensive Job Task Analysis study to identify the knowledge, skills, and abilities managers and supervisors need to perform competently on-the- job.

The FoM Program is sponsored by the Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM). ICPM was conceived in 1974 by a task force of management educators and members of the International Management Council and the National Management Association. The Institute is located on the campus of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

FoM is comprised of three courses, 28 hours of classroom time that covers a total of 14 chapters. The class is taught in a group discussion format. You may purchase a Soft-bound Participant Manual or e-book. Classes are typically offered during Lunch.
