About Learning Series

LMLA Learning Series was created as part of the Lockheed Martin Leadership Association's professional development.

Mission
To provide insight into different LM Aero leadership techniques and qualities, professional development, personal growth, leadership guidance, and networking opportunities through "1st Steps Toward Leadership" course.

General Course Information
Each series is 9 months long. Eight lunchtime classes (one a month) are followed by an Appreciation Ceremony/Networking Event. In each class a different company executive speaks on leadership and their organization. Presenters discuss career path and give advice for a successful future. After the class, students have the opportunity to ask questions and meet the speakers. There are also opportunities to network with classmates.

In order to obtain NMA credit for the class, the student must attend 7 of the 9 scheduled sessions.  Enrollment is free for LMLA members and $20 for non-members.

The LMLA 1st Steps Toward Leadership series offers two courses during the 2007-2008 term. To enroll in either session, please contact Karen Graham (karen.r.graham@lmco.com, 817-777-2182) in the LMLA office.

September - Company Operations
October - Global Sustainment
November - Program Management
January - Finance
February - Material Management
March - Production Operations
April - Engineering
May - Quality and Mission Success

There will be a break during the month of December, with classes resuming in January. The class schedule for each month during the series will be as follows:

  • 2nd Wednesday – 1st Steps to Leadership - Introduction #1
  • 4th Wednesday – 1st Steps to Leadership - Introduction #2
Note: Both classes are the same. Please sign up for only one.
